Boko Haram Scare: Rick Ross Cancels Calabar Festival Performance

The fear of Boko haram has made American rapper Rick Ross to cancel his scheduled performance at the Calabar carnival.

Rick Ross and American rap counterpart Fabolous were both billed to perform at different shows in Calabar and Lagos respectively. While Fabolous was  in Lagos having a good time with fans and getting a taste of the Nigerian entertainment industry, Rick Ross was in faraway United States for fear of the unknown. The cancellation by the heavily bearded rapper and self-styled Teflon don and boss of May Bach music was greeted with disappointments from Nigerian rappers Eldee the Don and Sauce Kid who both expressed their grievances on Twitter.

An official statement by the show organizers, the Cross River state government says Rick Ross had received full payment for his performance and that the cancellation was unrelated to the recent seizures and surgery undergone by the rapper.

They say appropriate legal and monetary remedies will be pursued against him.
